Last nights house special soup was truly awful. It was mush. I got the bottom of the pot.
What a GREAT FIND!!! Tony the owner is an amazing host! Went there specifically for Peking Duck. It's fabulous to finally find a North Jersey Chinese restaurant that is as good if not BETTER than the NYC duck houses. I'd highly recommend giving River House a try. You won't regret it! Excellent service too!

Always really good Chinese, especially if you choose to dine in Edgewater. That said, I'm no fan of the $3 "delivery fee" I need to pay, plus the food service delivery fee AND tip.
3rd time at River house. Took my partner here today to eat for his birthday. He loves this restaurant. We were able to walk in on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered our usual items. It was our first time ordering dessert and it was good. We got the chocolate lava with gelato. They even sang happy birthday. It was sweet. The service was good. All in all a good family spot for lunch / dinner.
River house Chinese is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Fort Lee. The quality is consistently good and the food is delicious. I've tried several items from their menu and my favorites have to be the king Pao chicken and grand marnier shrimp. My fiancé is also a huge fan of their Szechuan chicken (highly recommend if you love authentic spicy food). I've only ever ordered delivery from River House, but they deliver the food themselves and it's always been on time. The food is pricier than your basic takeout but we often have leftovers and the quality of the food is noticeably better. Hopefully one day I'll visit in person.
If you are looking for south Chinese cruise and this is the good place, especially if you like seafood. We started with tofu seafood soup, then had Chinese style crab, lobster and some greens. The food is pretty authentic overall, a little more on the oily side than our liking. Their tofu dishes are really good.
Came here for lunch when in the area. This place is in a little strip mall with a large parking lot so it was easy to park. They are right by the water, so it was a nice view. It must be even nicer during the warmer months. They have a lot of traditional chinese food. For our meal, we got the soup dumplings, the lo mein lunch special and duck noodle soup. The soup dumplings were my favorite- such good broth! The duck noodle soup was close behind, just a little more work to eat but that is always the case with this dish. The serving size was great in my opinion. The lo mein was just alright, we ended up not touching it too much and taking it out to eat as leftovers later that day. The service was really great though. Always attentive and no hesitation to provide you with what you need / want. Would definitely stop by again in the future when in the area.
